Thiruvalluvar Arts & Science College for Women is started on 10.07.2013 by Thiruvalluvar Trust, which was formed in the year 2002 by a group of seven management members. The College has State Government approval and is affiliated to Madurai Kamaraj University. The College is located in the main road between Soolappuram and Mallappuram in 10.17 acres. Initially it started the UG degree courses of Tamil, English, Mathematics, Computer Science and Commerce (2013 14).
The college added three more degrees to the curriculum, Physics, Chemistry and History in the year (2015-16). It also started PG courses in Tamil, English, Mathematics and Commerce in 2016-17.
